Remember the Gulf Spill? The reality is that many have basically forgotten about the spill because its effects are not immediately in our faces. (Not to mention that the press no longer really covers it.) Well, it seems those at Vogue Italia definitely have NOT forgotten about the spill. In fact, the September issue of Vogue Italia has a 24 page spread that centers upon the oil spill. This piece obviously carries a definite shock value, but is it solely to sell magazines (making them eNoli) jolt or is it embedded within a desire for us to reflect upon the nearly forgotten reality of the gulf crisis (making them iLone). I will say that many think this is a tasteless move to sell magazines and do not see the art in it. Well, we are all free thinkers in the Marvelous World so feel free to come to your own conclusion. Hate it or love it. Genius or just sick. It is going to be controversial and make those who encounter it think about the gulf spill once again.
