Olivion’s Favorites Part 2 (release)

in Olivion's Favorites

They say your second book is the hardest to write. I would say that is true because it took me so long to write Olivion’s Favorites. It was not that it was hard as far as writing goes, it was because in my opinion it is such a massive book. I know that it has tons of characters and I believe that it has a rich plot, mystery, and far more action than my first book. I am happy that I took the series from East Orange, Newark and NYC to Midlandia. So get ready to see Louis Proof in the center of grand battles and marvelous locations.

As of right now the book is coming out January 2009. (My bad– it took me so long to write it that it had to get pushed back. I am going to try to make the demand so crazy for this book that it comes out sooner. Promote! Promote! Promote!)

We have to wait that long? I hope it comes out sooner! Will you be conducting any tours? If so, where? :*)

I will be coming to Houston. I will keep you updated. Once again thank you for the support.

  • Norma Johnson

I just wanted to take a moment to give an extremely heartfelt thank you for what you have done and are continuing to do. Similar to you, I found myself disheartened by the lack (and to be honest, when I was younger downright absence) of diversity in literature. When I grew older and became a librarian, I thought to myself “surely things have changed in YA literature by now there must be at least one book in the fantasy genre that is told from the point of view of a Black character. Sadly, I found that this wasn’t the case. So, I began to take it upon myself to try writing my own fantasy novel with Black main characters, taken from the point of view of someone who wasn’t white. I found it extremely discouraging that there didn’t seem to be ANY literature out there that was my predecessor. That’s when I found out about you! * big smile *
So once again thank you. I think your books have the potential to do to literature what the Cosby Show did to television.

    PS
I’ve taken it upon myself to promote your work to my library friends (have to get your stuff added to all of their collections ;) )

    Dear Norma,

Thank you so much for what you had to say. Double thanks to the offer tell others about my work. I am happy to be making a positive addition to the young adult fantasy genre. I with you luck with your upcoming novels. But I want to say you will find that all children are included in my novels. With my inclusion I did not want to exclude.

  • Norma Johnson

Thanks for letting me know that :) I agree that there is no need to exclude others, that is the same thing I am doing in my story. Can’t wait till your second novel is published :)

    Dneroy Charles,

I hope you have gotten a chance to read my book by now. Please tell me what you think if you read this response. You have to read the book to find out what CLE means. I never utter those words. :-)

    Blumagik,

I am so happy that I am the first author that you have tried to reach out to. I can honestly say that I think you will totally be surprised by book 1.5. There is so much more story and you will not in anyway think that you have gone backwards in time. i am going to write a post about the book with a little more information. Please stay grounded but let your imagination run wild. That is what I have been doing for years. Please do not think you need to suppress your imagination. Thanks for giving my book to your family. I hope they like it and I really do not think you will be disappointed by the sequel! Remember to check back for the new blog on book 1.5.

    Thank you,

    Troy CLE

    Dear Troy CLE,

Thanks for gettin back to me, i really appreciate it and my little brothers loved the book, they read just as fast as i do… with that said they have asked me a question that i didnt think about and no longer need to answer since u have posted your reply to the question already (CLE). They wondered if it meant what they thought it was. And i of course answered yes, but followed it with my own question to them, are u a CLE of the Enoli or the iLone (forgive me for not using the correct fonts for the names mortal tech is so primative lol) but anyway, they have asked me do i know and we have had debates about it but if you could answer that for us it would be great.

    Possibly yours in the fight,
